This research was conducted at the Orthopedic Biomechanics Lab in Pasadena, where I worked as a published researcher from 2022 to 2023. The acromioclavicular (AC) joint is a common site of athletic injury, and understanding its mechanical behavior under load is important for evaluating surgical repair techniques.

The experimental setup used cadaveric shoulder specimens with complex pulley systems to simulate physiological loading conditions — replicating the forces the joint experiences during everyday arm motion. Testing characterized AC joint stability metrics relevant to surgical decision-making.

The lab's broader work involved testing new medical devices, surgical techniques, and exploring open biomechanical questions using human cadaver specimens.
